Apple MC372LL/A MacBook Pro 15-inch 2.53GHz Laptop

This particular MBP is excellent. I use a computer quad core for graphics-intensive work and picked one of these to help with development - sites and research. This laptop blows away my Windows Quad Core, totally! It's so fast. Startup for about 30 seconds, shut for 2-4 seconds, resume from sleep in 0-2 seconds. Applications open in seconds and there are no delays, hiccups or awkward moments when you wonder if your PC is out for tea. OS X is stable with lots of news that QuickLook, which saves lots of time. PDF files can be viewed directly. Images can be selected and displayed more quickly or in slideshows. Wonderful zoom. For Windows laptops, a wireless mouse is an absolute must. I bought a Logitech set while waiting for help with MBP, but I use the touchpad 90% of the time. It is as useful and responsive. The screen is gorgeous - yummy good. I like how Mac OS is so simple and easy to use, plus there are some really good freeware program to improve things.
Here are a couple.
Pathfinder - not free - Tabbed Finder by two panels. A must!
iGetThingsDone - Data organizer
NeoOffice - free office suite
Opera browser - even if I use Safari 95% of the time I use Opera to get the html and image elements from Web pages
Carbon Copy Cloner - backup accidental
ClamXAV - Antivirus
Burn - Backup and writing DVDs / CDs
FileZilla - FTP / upload files
GrabberWindow - essential - to take screenshots
Inkscape - vector app
JAlbum - create online photo albums
Jumpcut - tuned up the clipboard
Journler - excellent for taking notes
MacSword - Bible Browser / study
Mind Music Pro - Mind Mapping. Not for free - buy the Pro version has lots of plusses to the free version
ffmpegx - convert video
Name missing - Batch File Renamer
Qumana - remote not blogging
Seashore - image editor like Photoshop
Side Note - desktop note reminder - discreet and handy
unRarX - Unpack - Recommended
VLC - video player
Vox - music player
VMFusion - not free but affordable - run Windows without having to leave OS X

There is no reason to buy a Windows laptop when Mac is so good.
Can not recommend this enough. When it comes to heat, I use my own solution, if, if I have not noticed it gets hot at all. I chopped up a pencil eraser into 1 cm slices and place one in each corner. This 1 inch hole allows the computer is cool, plus the eraser will not allow the laptop to slide from side to side. I would buy a MBP Rain stops, but erasers seem to do the trick.
I can not play games on my MBP. Laptop computers, whether Windows or apples that are not made for playing graphics-intensive games. Slim bodies can not handle. Eventually the heat will destroy the internal components. I have been tempted to play GRID on my MBP, but only to see the amazing level of detail to achieve. I will leave the network only for demo for 5 minutes every 6 months or so. But the sensible rule-intensive games.
Older games should be ok. But it is pointless to spend so much money on such a machine and then wasting it on games.
My only gripe is that the MBP has to come with video cards that are included in the box, or a coupon so that buyers can download them for free from a local iStore.
